About

Thessa Jansen

As a designer I like to tackle problems and to face challenges. Design is not only about making things beautiful. It is much more than that. It has a purpose, it solves a problem, and more important is solves a problem so we as humans can improve our lives.

For me, a design process starts with asking questions and figuring out the purpose. For who am I designing? Searching for the underlying purpose, and most often that is not the one you had in your mind before starting the research.

Design is about ergonomics, psychology, emotions and experiences. Always keeping in mind the user’s wishes, beliefs, motivations and context. I don’t design for a moment, I design for an experience, where the before- and after using the product/service matters too.

I approach a design project, with a vast range of design and research methods that I have learnt over the years. But above all, it’s about a creative way of problem solving.
